Trophy Spring Black Bear Hunts 2010

Efford's Hunting Adventures offeres premium trophy Spring Black Bear Hunts at our North West Gander River ground accessed lodge and Sam's Pond fly-in lodge. For the spring of 2010 we will offer 20 of these spring bear hunts at our ground lodge to enable Efford's to produce quality bears instead of quantity. This area is new for Black Bear hunts and was first hunted last spring with 2 hunters from CA, USA harvesting trophy bears at 500lbs plus and approx. 325lbs. This area has been identified by our DNR as a major problem area for bears in regards to the high population and predation they have on the local caribou herds. Bears in the 500lbs plus range are not uncommon. Hunts run from last week of May until early July 2010. Also, we use spike camps at this location as we have a vast area and some stands are 25-30 miles from lodge. Last spring we developed and baited 35 stands in this area with all stands being hit within 2 months of baiting. With the stands in place and all being active by late summer we have great expectations for this virgin area for our upcomming 2010 hunt. Do not delay if you are looking for a trophy bruin as of mid Nov/07 we are 50% full on these hunts.

We have accomodations for 6 hunters at our mail lodge and normally take 6 only if in the same party. The hunt of a lifetime is only hours away from the USA or the UK. Guests will need to arrive in Gander Newfoundland Saturday evening or Sunday mid day. We provide transportation to and from lodge from Gander.

Combine speckled trout fishing with this package at no extra cost. We have trout fishing with trout ranging from pan sized - 2lbs at the hunting locations. Also, fly-out Altlantic Salmon fishing acailable in July. These hunts will be fully guided and as accomodating as our fall hunts. Check out our fall references here.

We use tree stands over bait for these hunts. Evenings will be spent sitting over baited stands and mornings may entail a spot and stalk hunt if one chooses. Bear Hunts start at $2800 and $1000 trophy fee for second bear.
